Intro of Oleanolic acid

Oleanolic acid is a pentacyclic triterpenoid compound extracted from the fruit of hydrocarpa hepatica or fructus ligustris of hydrocarpa family. Existing in a variety of plants as free bodies and glycosomes, oleanolic acid has become a commonly used liver protection drug in clinical practice. It has obvious protective effect on acute and chronic liver damage caused by carbon tetrachloride in rats, and can reduce elevated ALT and AST.

Inflammation, necrosis and interstitial inflammation are reduced, preventing the formation of fibrosis, promoting the regeneration of liver cells, and accelerating the recovery of dead tissue. Electron microscopy showed that enlarged mitochondria and rough endoplasmic reticulum recovered after oleanolic acid treatment. Its succinate can reduce the activity of P450 enzyme in mouse liver microsomal cells.

In addition, It can correct protein metabolism disorders, reduce inflammation, strengthen the heart, diuresis, increase white blood cells, reduce blood sugar, promote immune function, inhibit the growth of S-180 tumor strains and so on.

Physical and Chemical Properties

1.
