Introduction

Citronella oil is a volatile aromatic oil extracted from Cymbopogon plants, mainly obtained by steam distillation from stems and leaves of Cymbopogon.
Plant source: Mainly from Cymbopogon citratus and Cymbopogon winterianus. Cymbopogon citratus is native to India, Sri Lanka, etc., and Cymbopogon winterianus is native to Southeast Asia. Now they are widely planted in tropical and subtropical regions globally, like Yunnan, Guangdong, Guangxi in China.
Components
Main components: Mainly citral, with a high content, generally about 70% – 85%, along with geraniol, citronellol and other alcohols, and a small amount of methyl heptenone.
Other components: Include neral, myrcene, limonene, forming unique chemical makeup and odor.

Physical Characteristics

Color: Usually pale yellow to red – brown clear liquid, varying with raw material, process, storage.
