Introduction
Lemon oil is a natural aromatic oil extracted from lemon peel, pulp or flowers, belonging to citrus essential oils.
Plant source: Mainly from Citrus limon of Rutaceae. Native to Southeast Asia, now mainly produced in the US, Italy, Spain, China, etc. In China, it’s mainly grown in Sichuan, Yunnan, Guangxi.
Components
Main components: Predominantly limonene, usually over 90%, with aldehydes like citral, citronellal, neral, and small amounts of alcohols and esters.
Other components: Include myrcene, terpinene, linalool, linalyl acetate, giving unique aroma and chemistry.
Physical Characteristics
Color: Usually colorless to pale – yellow clear liquid, may vary with extraction & raw materials.
Aroma: Features intense, fresh, sharp lemon fruit aroma, refreshing and invigorating.
