Solubility Stable, but gradually converges when exposed to air. Flammable. Incompatible with strong oxidants. It reacts rapidly with chlorine. Due to the gradual exothermic reaction with oxygen, materials such as rags impregnated with linseed oil may spontaneously ignite after prolonged induction.
