Baisfu zedoary turmeric oil is a volatile oil extracted from the dried rhizome of it. Which has antiviral, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor and antibacterial effects. Curcuma oil contains more than 20 components such as curcumene, gemarone,neocurcuma dione and curcuma alcohol. Among which curcuma dione is the main effective component of anti-tumor, antibacterial and antiviral.

Extraction of Zedoary Turmeric Oil
The main extraction methods of zedoary oil include: CO2 supercritical fluid extraction (SFECO2), steam distillation extraction (SD), Soxhlet extraction (SX), pressing extraction, reflux extraction, microwave extraction and so on. The results show that CO2 supercritical fluid extraction (SFE-CO2) is the most suitable method and the yield of zedoary oil is high.
Pharmacological Action
1. Anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect
Curcumenedione 400mg/kg, an effective ingredient of curcumenedione with anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects in curcumenedione oil, showed obvious inhibitory effect on ear swelling induced by xylene in mice. In the chemical pain induced by acetic acid-induced writhing in mice, curcumenedione 400mg/kg can significantly increase the pain threshold of hot plate method in mice.
2. Antibacterial and antiviral effects
Curcumenol, one of the effective components of zedoary oil, can inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus, B-hemolytic streptococcus, typhoid bacillus, Escherichia coli, etc. It can directly inhibit respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), directly inactivate influenza viruses A1 and A3, and can also inhibit rubella and varicella viruses.
