Detailed Description of Furfuryl Mercaptan

Colorless oily liquid with a stench.Insoluble in water.Decompose at high temperature. It is an important component in the aroma of roasted coffee. Baisfu Furfuryl Mercaptan is mainly used in the flavor additives of coffee, chocolate, nuts and caramel syrup. The intermediate hydrolysis was obtained by using sodium hydroxide.

Applications

Blend coffee, chocolate (sesame, peanuts, etc.) dried fruit essence in the edible essence. Also can make caramel and syrup class essence. As the raw material of chemical industry, applied to pharmaceutical and chemical industry.

Food flavorings (primary use):
Coffee essence: It is one of the most crucial ingredients for preparing coffee essence, providing a realistic aroma of roasted coffee.
Meat flavor essence: Use in various meat flavor essences (beef, pork, chicken, seafood). it simulates the aroma of cooked meat.
Nut flavor essence: Use to enhance the flavors of nuts, sesame seeds, almonds, etc.
Seasoning: Use in compound seasonings, instant noodle seasoning packets,膨化 food, sauces, etc., providing a rich “meaty” and “charred” flavor.
Usage amount: Due to its extremely low aroma threshold (about 0.005 – 0.01 ppb in water). The concentration when used is usually at the level of one millionth (ppm) or even one billionth (ppb), and a small amount can produce a significant effect.

Other uses:
Chemical intermediates: Can be use as raw materials for synthesizing other more complex fragrances or fine chemicals. Scientific research: As a standard substance for flavor chemistry studies.
