Applications of Isophorone

Used as solvents, chemical synthesis intermediates for paints, inks, paints, gums, resins and nitrocellulose. It is especially suitable for vinyl resins and is mainly used in pesticides, coatings and can coatings. Is nitro spray paint, synthetic resin paint high boiling point solvent. Special coatings are used as thinner. Mix with methyl isobutyl ketone to dissolve phenolic resin and epoxy resin.

High-performance solvent:
Coatings, inks and paints: Due to its strong solubility, high boiling point and low volatility, it is highly suitable for use as a solvent for high-solid-content coatings, epoxy resins, polyurethanes, acrylic resins, nitrocellulose lacquers and printing inks. It can improve leveling, prevent white fog and extend drying time.
Adhesives: Used as a solvent for certain special adhesives.
Cleaners: Used to remove grease, resins and adhesives.
Chemical synthesis intermediates:
After hydrogenation, it forms Baisfu isophorone diamine (IPDA), which is a key raw material for the production of polyurethane and epoxy resin curing agents.
After oxidation, it generates 3,5,5-trimethylhexanoic acid, which is use in the synthesis of plasticizers, lubricants and drugs. It can use as the starting material for synthesizing pesticides, vitamin E, sunscreens and other fine chemicals.
