What is Fennel Oil Flavor?
Fennel oil is a natural essential oil extracted from star anise or fennel seeds through distillation or cold pressing. Its main component is anisole (accounting for 80-90%), presenting as a colorless to light yellow oily liquid with a rich sweet aroma and a spicy licorice flavor. It is insoluble in water but readily soluble in ethanol or oils. It has poor stability and needs to be stored in a sealed container away from light. Fennel oil is widely used in the food (baking, wine, seasonings), pharmaceutical (digestive AIDS), and daily chemical industries (toothpaste, perfume), and is also used in aromatherapy to soothe emotions.
