Dutchmanspipe fruit refers to the fruit of the Aristolochia plant. Its extract (P.E.) is a mixture of active ingredients obtained from the fruit through solvent extraction and other processes. Aristolochia plants have been used in traditional medicine for anti-inflammatory and analgesic purposes, but their safety is controversial because they contain aristolochic acids (AAs).
