Description

Asiaticoside is a triterpenoid saponin compound extracted from Centella asiatica of the Umbelliferae family. Its chemical name is 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→3)-O-[α-L-rhamnosyl-(1→2)]-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-asiatic acid. It is usually a white to slightly yellow crystalline powder, odorless, bitter, slightly soluble in water, and soluble in ethanol.
