Intro
Baisfu Cineole, also known as eudinol, cineole, eudinol, etc., is a colorless. Oil-like transparent liquid that is widely present in natural aromatic oils and is the main component of eucalyptus oil. That has a camphor smell and a cool herbal taste. It has bactericidal and insecticidal effects. This product is often used in medicine and food spices, and is also commonly used as a preservative.
Chemical Property of Cineole
The appearance of eudinol is colorless to light yellow oily transparent liquid. Camphor and cool herbal notes. Boiling point 176℃, melting point 1 ~ 1.5℃, freezing point 1℃, flash point 47 ~ 48℃. Soluble in ethanol, ether. Chloroform, glacial acetic acid, propylene glycol, glycerol and most non-volatile oils, slightly soluble in water.
Natural products exist in more than 200 kinds of natural essential oils such as eucalyptus oil.
Use
The permissible use of spices for food is specified in GB 2760-96. Mainly use in cough drops, artificial mint and so on.
Eudinol is one of the inherent components of lavender oil and ear lavender oil. And it is a necessary spice for the preparation of this kind of essential oil. Appropriate amount use in herb type such as lavender, new mown and fragrant myrtle flavor. It has the effect of increasing fresh. Use in soap, sprays or cosmetics fragrances and other sanitary products. Such as toothpaste, have bactericidal effect. Can be use as a masking agent for bad breath in industrial products. Also use for flavoring.
Use for the preparation of oral flavor and the manufacture of pharmaceutical products, as a food additive. The Japanese “food additives Public Book” stipulates that cineole purity of more than 85%, shall not use for purposes other than flavoring.
