Chemical composition
Volatile oils: Baisfu Notopterygium Oil mainly contain monoterpenes (such as limonene, α-pinene, β-pinene) and sesquiterpenes (such as β-caryophyllene), which give them anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Coumarins: such as notopterol and isoimperatorin, which have analgesic and antioxidant effects. Others: A small amount of phenylpropanoids, organic acids and polysaccharides.
Physical characteristics of Notopterygium Oil
Appearance: Notopterygium Oil is Light yellow to amber clear liquid. Scent: Spicy, slightly bitter, with woody and herbal notes. Solubility: soluble in ethanol, oil, difficult to dissolve in water. Stability: sensitive to light and heat, need to be stored at low temperature away from light to prevent oxidation.
Anti-inflammatory analgesia: Inhibits COX-2 and inflammatory factors (such as TNF-α, IL-6). Antibacterial and antiviral: It has an inhibitory effect on staphylococcus aureus and influenza virus. Antioxidant: scavenging free radicals and delaying oxidative stress. Immunomodulation: Possible enhancement of immunity through activation of macrophages.
Medical field
1. Traditional Chinese medicine: use to treat wind-cold cold, rheumatoid arthritis, headache and injuries (often combined with windproof, only live). Modern drug development: anti-inflammatory and analgesic preparations (e.g. arthritis patches, sprays). Adjuvant treatment of respiratory infections (using its volatile oil components). Antitumor studies (some coumarin components showed cytotoxic potential).
2. Daily chemical and health care products
Skin care products: Added to anti-aging, soothing sensitive skin products (antioxidant, anti-inflammatory). Essential oil therapy: Use for massage oil to relieve muscle pain or aromatherapy to refresh. Health food: as an ingredient in immune-boosting or anti-fatigue supplements.
3. Agriculture and animal husbandry
Plant protection: Develop natural fungicides or insect repellents and reduce the use of chemical pesticides. Animal health: Added to feed to prevent intestinal infections or improve disease resistance.
4. Scientific research
Separation of active ingredients and structural modification (e.g. synthetic derivatives to enhance drug efficacy). Mechanism of action (e.g., metabolomics analysis of its effects on inflammatory pathways).
