Apply of Paeoniflorin

Baisfiu Paeoniflorin can resist the oxidative stress injury of histopathocytes, inhibit the activation of astrocytes, enhance the protection of nerves, have an obvious antagonistic effect on the damage of dopaminergic nerve cells in striatum and substantia nigra, and improve motor retardation, so it can be used in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy and other brain diseases. In addition, paeoniflora can also fight autoimmune diseases such as tumor, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. Animal experiments also show that paeoniflorin can significantly reduce blood sugar content and has an important protective effect on cardiopulmonary cells.

Preparation

Weigh 40kg of Radix paeoniae and soak it in 70% ethanol overnight, extract it by reflux twice for 2h each time, filter it, combine the filtrate, rotate to evaporate until it has no alcohol taste, adjust the liquid so that each 1ml liquid is equivalent to 0.5g crude medicine, and set aside. Weigh 120kg(wet weight)LX38 resin and put it into a stainless steel column (300×2300cm) with a column volume of 60L. After 1h adsorption, 300L of water and 300L of 10% ethanol were used to remove impurities, then 360L of 50% ethanol was used to eluting paeonipeony and alpaeoniside, and finally 95% ethanol was used to reproduce the resin. The flow rate was 150 ~ 200L/h, the 50% ethanol part was concentrated and dried to 2.52kg, the purity of paeoniflorin was 24%, and the purity of paeoniflorin was 16%.

Chemical Property

White crystal, soluble in methanol, derived from peony, peony, red peony.

Use

A glycoside isolated from the root of peony.
Paeoniflorin is a glycoside isolated from the root of Paeonia lactiflora. Paeoniflorin has been used as an anticonvulsant and has hypoglycemic effect. This compound reverses guanethidine-induced hypotension by activating Adenosine A1 R (the central Adenosine A1-Rs) in the brain.
